About

I am a guitarist. I teach at schools, accompany dancers, play for weddings, do recitals, play at home for fun. I love a variety of guitar styles, including flamenco, classical and jazz. Flamenco especially has been a long running infatuation – it has lead me to Spain many times, whenever I could get there, following the traditional apprenticeship of accompanying singers and dancers, studying with maestros and playing at juergas. Classical guitar has always had a strong pull for me as well, and the way it forces you to think intently about the sound you produce helps with all other types of playing. A thousand years worth of repertoire is pretty awesome, too. Jazz is an incredible world, and one where I still see myself as a bit of a novice. The popular song arrangements I usually work out for fun or when they are requested for wedding ceremony work.
